Aiming at finding objective and feasible alternatives to solve Brazilian problems, the Liberty Forum was established on April 14, 1988. The event, which is held every year, is attended by businesspeople, professionals, politicians, professors, university students, members of the press and opinion-makers, allowing for an analysis and open debate of the proposed theme.

The Liberty Forum has become the largest space for political, economic and social debate in Latin America. Its main feature is the debate among personalities invited to participate in the Forum. These nationally and internationally renowned speakers, with their view of world trends, bring different perspectives for the Brazil of the future.

The themes discussed at the Liberty Forum are always controversial, innovative and extremely relevant, generally related to education, economy, development social and political issues. These discussions involve the dialogue between different currents of thinking, with the participation of sociologists, politicians, economists and philosophers. In this regard, the most remarkable feature of the Liberty Forum is the fact that it is moved by the freedom of ideal and the expression of true leaders.

IEE established the Libertas Award in 1997 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Liberty Forum. The award is granted to entrepreneurs who have stood out in their work for the appreciation of the principles of market economy and respect for the democratic Rule of Law.
